Updegraff Vision is proud to announce that Stephen Updegraff, M.D., F.A.C.S. has been recognized as one of the Top Doctors in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

This prestigious list honors physicians who have been nominated by their peers and selected as being among the nation’s best doctors. The system of peer-nomination allows the list to serve as a compilation of trustworthy referrals for prospective patients – providing them with an index of skilled, respected physicians their own doctors would refer them to.

“At Updegraff Vision, we are dedicated to providing excellence in care and world-class LASIK and cataract surgery for our patients,” said Dr. Updegraff. “I am deeply honored to have been nominated by my peers and recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top doctors.”

Being selected as a Top Doctor is a high honor only the best physicians receive – only about 3 percent of the nearly 800,000 doctors in the country are chosen to be included on the list.

Dr. Updegraff has been known nationally and internationally as a pioneering LASIK surgeon since the mid-1990s, when he performed the third LASIK in the U.S. and the first in Asia. He has also earned seven patents on techniques and technologies used in LASIK and microsurgery of the eye.

Dr. Updegraff has received a multitude of awards and honors over the course of his career, including the Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Distinguished Citizens Award from the West Central Florida Council Boy Scouts of America, and has been named a Leading Innovator in Premium IOL implant surgery by Premier Surgeon as well as a member of the peer-selected Best Doctors in America list.
